It’s been a while since I posted about Firebird Vengeance, book 3 in The Sedumen Chronicles, so I thought I’d take this opportunity to highlight a major real location I use in the book. Alex and her companions find themselves on two occasions at a hospital. I could of course have invented a hospital but I like to think that by using real places, I help ground the fantasy in a more real environment. So I chose one of the largest hospitals in Orange County, Western Medical Center. It’s a huge, state of the art hospital, one of the best in the region, and it happens to not be that far from the city of Tustin, where Alex lives. She and Jake mention it in passing in Lady Firebird, but in this third book, one important scene at the beginning of the book, and two major scenes later on take place here. I use a number of real places in the book, but I use Western Medical Center most.
